Former Senator Breaux has just announced that he will not seek the office of governor of Louisiana. I guess my last post is moot.
"While I appreciate the hard work of the attorney general and his office, the failure of a clear declaration of my status as a citizen greatly inhibits my ability to conduct a campaign based on the issues instead of the law," Breaux said in a statement issued through the Louisiana Democratic Party.-Times Picayune
Now the only question is: who will run as the Democrats choice. According to the above article, Chris John and Mitch Landrieu are thinking of running. I don't think Nagin will (he's been in love with Jindal since the last governor's race). Who else will throw in their hat? Charlie Melacon? Me (no)? Who do you want in that office? Could Jindal actually do a better job now that he has served in an elected office? Or will Foti run (if he does then this was just a ploy to get Breaux out)?
edit: added quote for you.

1. ...fine with me, this probably helps Jindal's chances quite a bit.
