Army Corps of Engineers Mucks Up ... Again

I have kept pretty quiet about the corps. I'm not an engineer, I don't understand levees and I like to believe that they've done the best that they can over the years with what they had. This latest debacle though, installing faulty pumps last year in an effort to meet Bush's demands is disgusting. With all of the national attention put on restoring New Orleans and keeping it safe as well as the millions of dollars slotted to do so, I cannot believe that that the Army Corps of Engineers put us in danger once again despite warnings from their own expert.

It should come as no surprise that the company awarded the $26.6 million dollar contract to build the faulty pumps is connected to the Bush family. Some days I can't help but feel like we're getting screwed again and again and again. "Good enough for government work" isn't going to cut it anymore.
