Rocky & Carlo's Reopened Today!

Rocky & Carlo's, the famous Chalmette eatery, reopened its doors today for the first time since the hurricane. I was delighted to hear this news as I have fond memories of my favorite Chalmations trying to convince me to go to Da Parish for a bite to eat. I never did and that was (believe it or not) one of my greatest regrets.

From what I've heard, the place has been stripped of its wood paneling and looks a whole lot cleaner but still serves the same magnificent fried food that could be found there a year and a half ago. From po-boys to macaroni and cheese to wop salads - Rocky & Carlo's has all of your favorite sinful foods. Make sure to get some "red gravy" too.

I am so excited that I have not missed the opportunity to try their fare. I know that to anyone who doesn't live here, the idea of traveling "down the road" just to get some grease is not really understandable. But here in New Orleans, where we all we do is talk about where we are going to eat next, it's understood and encouraged. Hooray for Rocky & Carlo's. Hooray for Da Parish.
